I first understood the stages of vertical development through my coaching practice. Having long been a fan of Wilber’s work, I came to perceive the evolutionary perspective of clients through the lens of: ‘from work to play, grow to flow, calm to care, and free to love with joy and peace.’ Peace is a recent addition with reference to Hawkins’ levels of consciousness and in tribute to world events in 2022 and the conference theme.
Over the last 10 years I have also associated the emergence and blossoming of our human faculties, our self-expression, and the energy fields of our life experience, with the stages of development. In this workshop I would like to share this framework with you.
In the last few years I’ve been leading small group Discovery Dialogues with StageSHIFT Coaches from all around the world. This has led to many global conversations where we’ve explored cultural sensitivities and personal vulnerabilities to develop our own understanding of international events.
At this workshop I’d like to invite you to consider the vertical level of global interventions, and wonder how to be ‘free to love’ and honour friend and foe at the 5th Perspective of spiritual emergence, could possibly contribute to more effective international diplomacy and world peace.
I’ll begin with context setting and then invite you to explore key questions in small groups and as a whole for us to gain a clearer and larger realization of the role we might play as peacemakers in society.
